This contemporary sterling silver ring has a single dichroic cabochon in a deep indigo blue. Although not obvious, it has a wrap-around design that makes it somewhat adjustable. The band is hammered to give it a light texture. Since each piece of glass is unique, it is one of a kind.

I made the dichroic glass cabochon my kiln. I fuse the glass at almost 1500F, then cool it very slowly to give it strength and durability. The color is in the glass and will not wear off.

The base (flat area) of the ring is .925 sterling silver. The band is Argentium (.935) sterling silver, and the bezel is (.999) fine silver. Both of these tarnish slightly less than regular sterling.

The base of the ring is soldered to one end of the band, meaning the other end is slightly adjustable. I say "slightly" because the band is made of heavy wire that will not move too easily. You may want to adjust it slightly to fit and then you shouldn't need to adjust it again. Repeated adjusting will weaken the metal. I try to make most of these around a size 8-10 U.S. It would probably be hard to get it adjusted to a size 5 or 6, for example. Contact me if you are interested in a size that small.
