These handmade turquoise earrings are my own original design. Each earring has three arches of sterling silver in different sizes, from large to small. Below each arch is a round gemstone bead (in either turquoise or black agate). Since the design was inspired by pagodas, the arches are imprinted with a design of traditional Chinese characters. I added hand-forged ear wires of Argentium sterling silver (with a sterling lever back option.) These Asian-style earrings are a twist on traditional turquoise and silver jewelry!
The arches are made from silver metal clay (.925 silver or higher). I imprint the Chinese characters into the silver.
Bead choices are as follows:
Turquoise (reconstituted): larger, blue beads (8 mm)
Turquoise (natural): smaller, blue-green beads (7 mm)
Black Agate: black beads (9 mm)
The model is shown wearing natural turquoise with interchangeable lever backs.
The non-slip ear wires are hand-forged out of Argentium sterling silver (.925), it is a new type of sterling silver that doesn't tarnish as much as normal sterling. (In the pictures, the ear wire is too curved to go all the way through the hard display ear. It will hang in a real ear like a normal earring.) Argentium silver is also made from recycled silver.
