This colorful handmade orange and green necklace is one of a kind (OOAK). I call it "Fiesta" because of its bright colors. The focal piece is a fiery ridged dichroic pendant. I paired it with bright orange and green genuine cultured baroque freshwater pearls. It also has fire opal Swarovski crystals, little glass beads, and some more real pearls. I finished it off with a 14 karat gold-filled toggle clasp.
The necklace is a little over 18" long, not counting the pendant, which is 1" long. If you would like I could switch out the toggle clasp for a gold-filled extender chain with a spring-ring clasp at no extra cost.
I made the fused glass dichroic pendant myself; it is properly annealed for strength and durability. It has a gold dichroic layer on a bright orange background. It is textured with horizontal ridges in straight lines. After firing, I put a groove around the edge of it and wire-wrapped it with 14K gold-filled wire.
The pearls are not perfectly round, but they have a very nice luster (shine) to them. Because freshwater pearls do not normally come in such bright colors, these pearls have been either dyed or irradiated to give them their bright oranges and greens. I hand-picked these pearls out myself on my last trip to Shanghai.
Gold-filled is a very good alternative to solid gold at a fraction of the price. For more information about the materials and processes I use, including information on kinds of pearls, gold-filled, and fused glass, please see the FAQ section of my studio.
