This one-of-a-kind pendant necklace is made of fine silver and dichroic glass. The glass is textured blue with bits of purple. It is partially covered by waves of what look like prehistoric aquatic organisms that are made of fine silver. I call this pendant Primordial Ooze. The pendant is shown on an 18" sterling silver snake chain, which is included.
The back of the pendant is made entirely of silver and has a shell texture. I believe these are nautilus shells. I have also added my initials and ".999" for fine silver.
This pendant features a dichroic glass cabochon that I made myself. After making the cab, I built the pendant around it using metal clay. This is clay that is mixed with microscopic bits of silver. After I made the pendant, I fired it in my kiln. The high temperatures burned away all the organic material in the clay, leaving only the silver and glass behind. I was inspired by the glass. It had an organic look and colors that reminded me of the ocean. So I wanted to make something that represented the evolution of life from the ocean, since supposedly that is where it evolved from.
